» Easy Outdoor Entertaining Ideas

A successful outdoor dinner party doesn’t require anything elaborate―just simple good food, great company and a beautiful setting.

Tips for a successful gathering:

1. Make sure there is plenty of seating and that it’s comfortable!

2 Lay brown craft table across the table for easy cleanup

3. The plates don’t have to be matchy-matchy. A mix of patterns makes for a more casual feel

4.Make sure there are covered areas for guests who want to get out of the sun

5. Have party tubs and drink stations in more than one area so guests can help themselves.

6. Set up tables in different areas to create “rooms” and to encourage guests to roam

7. Add small jars and bottles of different sizes and colors to create an interesting centerpiece. And use them as vases so they have multiple purposes.

8. Create ambiance with themed decorations. These starfish and sand dollar pewter napkin holders make the perfect beachy statement!

9. In the evening, make sure to have plenty of lighting. Paper lanterns hanging from trees look beautiful in mixed colors or the colors of your choice.

10. Remember to have fun, relax and enjoy the company of your guests!

» Outside the Box Easter Decorating Ideas

With Easter less than a week away (March 31), you may be wondering what you’ll do to decorate for your Easter festivities. Don’t worry, you still have plenty of time to prepare for Easter Sunday and your guests. This year think outside the box and decorate with bright colors, nature inspired elements and items you may already have around your home! Here are a few ideas: Use small teardrop vases with a single flower arranged around your home for pops of color. Arrange small glass jars the length of your table with decorated eggs, raffia or other small Spring items arranged throughout. Use elements of silver to decorate your Easter table. It’s unexpected but so pretty! Small silver glass bowls, platters or plates make a big statement.

Neon pom poms Easter centerpiece

For a fun and inexpensive centerpiece, use different height cake stands and candle holders to hold bright and sassy neon tissue pompoms.

Find colorful decorative ribbon and make hanging bows for the back of each seat. Hot glue a spring element like a butterfly or dragonfly to the center and affix your guest’s name. A pretty way to label the seat with creative labels on your Dymo label printer that doesn’t crowd the table.

Decorated in dazzling, daffodil-inspired yellows, hard-boiled or blown eggs work great!  Just paint on dots, stripes, and swirls.

Here’s a great way to reuse your cornacopia from Thanksgiving! Dye some Easter eggs, add some raffia or Easter grass and include your favorite items. These can include candy, small flowers or miniature chicks to create an Easter cornucopia fit to accompany a bounty of Easter deliciousness.

Welcome your family and friends to your Easter celebration with a colorful banner. Print on cardstock and cut into the shape of pennants. Glue them to ribbon and hang. Choose your favorite colors-be creative!

Tall manzanita branches hung with paper butterflies create a dramatic centerpiece for your Easter table. Arrange  pretty plates, pale blue dyed eggs and fluffy white hydrangeas to create an eye-catching color palette.
